Day 15- Great Wall, Science Museum, Bethel Birthday

第十五天－长城，科学博物馆，爱百福生日

那一天是一个很长的一天，也是一个很有趣的一天。

早上我们八点多就起来了上车去长城。我们做了两个小时的车。等我们到那儿时候，我们做了空中缆车。在车上中我往下一看，下面有几个人去爬山去上长城，而我们是做缆车。我不想做缆车，我想像他们一样去上山爬山，然后去爬长城。因为我觉得如果我们做缆车，那这就不叫做“爬长城”了，因为我觉得如果你想爬长城，那你就得走到底。毕竟长城是一种锻炼吗。

我们在走长城的时候到是挺好玩的。Amy他这人跟我一样，不喜欢别人把他当成残疾人，所以她就给妈妈和江阿姨看了看走长城对她是有多么的简单。想到这儿倒挺好玩的。（照片在下面）

快到中午的时候江阿姨想让我们走回去，但Amy和我还是想走。然后江阿姨就说：“那一会儿你得走回去。”可是我不管，我想要继续走。但是，最后我们还是决定要走回去了。

下一站就是科学博物馆。在我们要离开长城的时候，Amy就说她不想走。她觉得博物馆一点儿都不好玩儿的。不过我们还是要走的。我倒是觉得她倒是挺可爱的。

我们在科学博物馆遇到了一个志愿者。她给我们看了一些东西，之后Amy就开始玩一个叫“曹操”的游戏。有一个叔叔过来教她怎么玩，但是她老是弄不好。但是，她并没有放弃。好多人都说她好执着呀。我真想像她一样执着。最后我们得要走了，但她不想走因为她还没弄好呢。不过最后我们还是得要走了。我忘了她最后弄没弄好，我觉得她好像弄好了。她还是跟上次一样说爱百福一点没兴趣。（曹操游戏照片在下面）

我们很喜欢他们表演的节目。那里有四个主持人，之中的一个人是Tracy。那里的孩子也很可爱的。Amy和我有时候都被感动了。

等他们节目表演完了，Amy超想见那些爱百福的小孩。我们先见Tracy，不过她好像不想跟我们说话，所以我们就去看别的小孩。我好喜欢那里的小不点儿，他们真的是好可爱呀！之后又一个男孩叫Michael开始跟Amy说话，我和Michael的一个朋友就站在那儿听她说话。Amy也跟法国爸爸和法国妈妈说了话。法国爸爸和法国妈妈是爱百福的创始者。

已经很晚很晚了，是时间走了。Amy很不想走。但是我们还是要走。等我们到家的时候我是好累好累。我真想直接睡觉，干脆不洗澡了。不过我还是要洗澡。我大约十点才睡觉的。

那一天真的是很长的第十五天呀！

Day 15 was a very long day and also a very fun day.

In the morning we got up at eight to go to the Great Wall. We rode two hours in the car. When we got in there, we rode cable car. In the car I looked down, down there were a few people in the mountain climbing, but we rode in the cable car. I don’t want to ride cable car. I want to climb the mountain like them, and then go to the Great Wall. Because I think if we ride the cable car, then that isn’t called “go to the Great Wall”, because I think if you want to go to the Great Walk, then you have to walk to the end. After all the Great Wall is a kind of an exercise.

It was funny when we were on the Great Wall. Amy is like me, doesn’t like people to treat her as a person with disability, so she showed mom and Joy how easy it is for her to walk on the Great Wall. Thinking about that it’s so funny.

When it was almost noon Joy wanted us to walked back, but Amy and I wanted to keep walking. Then Joy said, “Then you have to walk back.” However, I didn’t care, I just wanted to keep walking. However, at the end we still had to walk back.

Next stop was Science Museum. When we were about to leave the Great Wall, Amy said that she doesn’t want to go. She thought the museum is not fun. However, we still have to go. I thought she is pretty cute.

We met a volunteer at the science museum. She showed us some stuff, and then Amy started to play a game called “Cao Cao”. There was one man who came and taught her how to play, but she just doesn’t play it well. However, she didn’t give up. Many people said she is very determined. I really wanted to be as determine as her. Finally we have to go. I forgot if she finished or not, I think she finished. She still like last time said Bethel is not fun.

We liked their show very much. There had four hosts, one of them was Tracy. The kids in there were very cute. Amy and I sometime even felt touched by it.

When their show finished, Amy want to talk toBethel kids so badly. We first saw Tracy, but she seemed didn’t want to talk to us, so we went to see other kids. I liked the kids in there, they are so cute! Then there was a boy name Michael who started talking to Amy, Michael’s friend and I just stood there and listened to them talking. Amy also talked to “Fa Guo baba, Fa guo mama” (French dad, French mama). They are founders of Bethel.

It was super late, and it was time to go. Amy didn’t want to go. However, we still had to go. When we came home I was super tired. I really wanted to just go straight to bed, don’t shower. However, I still had to shower. I went to bed about 10 o’clock.

That day was very long!

Day 14- Hutongs, Visiting, and Olympic building

第14天－胡同，看望，和奥运建筑

在2013年12月13日我们去了四个地方：胡同，清河一小（我的学校），北京市儿童福利院，水立方，和鸟巢。

那天上午我们先去了胡同，我们可喜欢了。我们做了一个出租自行车（照片在下面）：

我们跟了那些人说了说话，Amy最能说话了。我很想跟她一样能说话。我们俩倒挺高兴的。有时候Amy还让那个人要在妈妈和江阿姨的前面（我们做两个自行车，一个是我和 Amy，另一个是江阿姨和妈妈），真好玩。

之后我们去了鼓楼。等他们表演完了，我们问了Amy有几个鼓，她说五个而且中间是个大的。

中午的时候我们去了清河一小。那时候我的同学已经上六年级了。我的中国老师和同学都很高兴。在我下车的时候，我看见了品德悦老师。当我要进教室的时候，Amy就不想进去，我那时候不知道为什么。我努力鼓励了她，她最后终于进去了，但是不知道为什么她好像不怎么高兴。那些学生问了问我一些问题，我回答了他们。很多的同学都变了很多，我差一点都认不出他们了！那时候我班也来了两个新学生，我忘了他们的名字了。一男一女。

上一天晚上我给刘雨晴打了电话，她告诉了我陶老师说我班同学必须要给我做一张贺卡。我当时就想，陶老师她好像不应该这样，人家不想就不想吧，只要他们不在欺负我就行了。所以那天等我离开教室的时候，好像每一个人都个我一张贺卡。我给每一个人美国25美分硬币。

陶老师让刘雨晴和她最好的朋友尹静跟我一块儿去看刘老师和郑老师。我问了问我能不能看清河一小我两个最好的朋友曹溪娟和张涵。我很高兴见到他们。她们俩不跟我一班。我们三个走得很快。我很高兴看刘老师和郑老师。之后我们又回到了教室，在我们回教室的路上，我们碰见了我四年级的语文李老师。我们说了说话。等我们回了教室，我们合了一张影。之后他们问我了我的电子邮件，我写在了黑板上。

等我们要走的时候，我很舍不得，但是我什么都没说。我那时候超想念郑老师。

下一站是福利院。我们坐在福利院的门口上。江阿姨问哪里的警察能不能让高阿姨出来。开始有一个阿姨问我我记得她吗？我当时很糊涂。我根本就没有见过她！他在说啥呢！我也不知道她为啥知道我。之后Amy就请阿姨让我见高阿姨因为我一年都没有见她了，Amy她这人可真好呀。然后高阿姨出来了，但是我不知道要说什么，哎呀真是的！我们照了照相，然后给了对方拥抱。等我们走了的时候，我很想去二儿福去看苏楠楠她们，但是妈妈说不行因为那个福利院说不行。真实的。

下一站是水立方和鸟巢。里面倒挺好看的。

这就是在中国的第14天，也就是在北京的第二天。

In 2013 December 13 we went to four places: Hutong, Qinghe #1 (my school), Beijing Orphanage, Water Cube and Bird Nest.

That day in the morning we went went to Hu tong. We liked it very much. We rode in a bicycle taxi:

We talked to the some of people. Amy is the most talkative. I really want to be like Amy know how to talk. We were pretty happy. Sometimes Amy even let the person go front of Joy and Mom (we rode in two bicycles, one is Amy and I, other is Joy and mom), so fun.

Then we went to the drum tower. When they finished performance, we asked Amy how many durums there are. She said five and the middle is the bigger one. (She was right.)

At noon we went to Qinghe #1. My classmates were in sixth grade. My Chinese teachers and classmates were very happy. When I got out of the car, I saw my morality teacher Mr. Yue. When I was about to go into the classroom, Amy didn't want to come in, I didn't know why. I tried to encourage her, she finally came in, but didn't know why she wasn't very happy. Those students asked me a lot of questions, and I answered them. Many of them changed a lot, I almost didn't recognize them! My class also had two new students, I forget their names. One was girl and one was boy.

The night before I called my classmate, Liuyuqing. She told me that Mrs. Tao said that my classmates had to make me a card. I was thinking, Mrs. Tao shouldn't be that way, they don't want to they don't want to, at least they aren't going to bully me, that's a good thing. So that day when I leave the classroom, almost every student gave me card. I gave everyone American quarters.

Mrs. Tai let Liuyuqing and her best friend Yin Jing go see Mrs. Liu and Mrs. Zheng with me. I asked if I can go see my two best friends in Qinghe #1, Cao Xijuan and Zhang Han. I was very happy to see them. They weren't in the same class with me. Three of us (Liu Yuqing, Yin Jing and I) walked very fast. I was very happy to see Mrs. Liu and Mrs. Zheng. Then we went back to our classroom, on our way back, we bumped into my fourth grade Language Art teacher Mrs. Li. We talked a little bit. When we got back to the classroom, we took a group picture. Then they asked my email address, I wrote on blackboard.

When we had to go, I really didn't want to go, but I didn't say anything. I missed Mrs. Zheng so much.

Next stop was the orphanage. We sat at the door of the orphanage. Joy asked the police in there if they can let Nanny Gao to come out. At first there was a nanny asked me if I remember her or not. I was very confused. I never met her before! What was she talking about? I don't know why the nanny knows me. Then Amy started to ask that nanny if I can see Nanny Gao because I haven't see her for a year! Amy she is a such good person! Then Nanny Gao came out, but I didn't know what to said, Shoot! We took some pictures, then gave each other a hug. When we were leaving, I really wanted to go to Orphanage #2 to see Su Nannan and other, but mom said no because the orphanage said no. Shoot.

Next stop is Water cube and Bird Nest. Inside was very pretty.

This is the Water Cube that they used for the swimming and other water sport for  olympics.

This is another olympic building that call Bird Nest that they used for other sport for summer olympics. 

That was the 14th day in China, which is the second day in Beijing.

Day 10- Baiyun Mountain Scenic Area

第十天－白云山风景区

我们那天有一个很好的一天。我们看了看一些很好看的东西。这是其中的一张照片：（请看下面)

等我们弄完了，我们回到宾馆。然后黄阿姨问我们想去哪儿。我们说健身的地方和买一个头发的东西。然后Amy很想玩自动扶梯，所以我和Amy就一起玩儿了一自动扶梯。

等我们回屋的时候，我在做我的作业呢，Amy想给她的阿姨打电话。但是我们是在广州，所以我们得有铜鼓的区号。我先给了她的我们北京的区号（那时候我不知道），结果打不着。然后我又试了试另一个区号，然后终于弄好了。然后我就写我的作业。我觉Amy她有时候真可爱。她打电话的时候真好玩，那时候妈妈根本就不知道我为啥笑。

我很高兴我跟妈妈去了中国。Amy和我的第一天关系很好。有时候她很好玩也挺可爱的。她特爱说别人可爱。我觉得这很可爱。有时候我们会斗嘴。我真的很享受那成路程。


That day we had a really good day. We saw some really beautiful stuff. Here is of the picture:

When we finished, we went back to the hotel. Then Helen asked us where we wanted to go. We said we wanted to go the exercise park and buy some hair stuff. Then Amy wanted to play with the escalator.

When we went back to our room, I was doing my homework. Amy wanted to call her nannies. However, we were in Guangzhou, so we needed to have Tonggu’s area number code. I first gave our Beijing area code (at that time I didn’t know), but it wouldn’t work. Then I tried another area code, then it finally worked. Then I started doing my homework. I think sometimes Amy is very cute. When she was making phone calls she was very funny. At that time mom didn’t know why I was laughing.

I’m really glad that I went to China with mom. Amy and I were getting along really well. Sometimes she was really funny and cute. She loves to say people are cute. I thought this was really cute. Sometimes we fought, and wasn’t like where we were hitting each other, it is kind of a funny fight. I really enjoyed that trip.

Day 9- Zoo and Phone Call

第九天－动物园和电话

周日我们去了动物园。那天我们很开心。那里的人很热闹。虽然Amy不能摸那些动物，但是她能听和闻那些动物的声音和味道，不过那些动物的味道不怎么好闻。

那有一个东西我在动物园我不喜欢，那儿说不能喂动物，可好像没有一个人把这个规则当成事儿，而且也没有人强制人们做那个规则说的。我对这个很不高兴。

有一次我们去看河马的时候，那儿有一个东西你可以读。所以我就读给Amy，当时黄阿姨就很惊奇。可我觉得这没有什么大不了的，我的记忆又不是那么不好。然后黄阿姨就说很多被收养的中国小孩都忘记很多的中文。我这才知道为什么很多的中国人很惊奇我的中文还在呀。但是，这也没有改变我对我中文的想法。我这人好像从来都没有对我自己很惊奇，因为我觉得那是应该得到的，或做到的。不过如果有时候我做错了事情或是做一件事情做的不是特好，我就觉得我很不好。而别人却觉得我做的也不是那么不好。我觉得我这人对我自己的期望比别人要更高一些。

那天下午我问了妈妈我能不能给郑老师和高阿姨打电话，妈妈说行。我当时就特高兴。我先给郑老师打电话，郑老师知道周五我会去看学校的，但是她觉得那个时间好像太短了，所以她就问我她能不能去江阿姨的家里跟我们吃晚饭。江阿姨是我们在北京的翻译而且我们住在她的家。我们在她家里吃早饭和晚饭。当时我就特高兴，真没想到郑老师会问我这个（是好事儿）。之后我给高阿姨电话。我问到我能不能见到她。她说我们不能私人见面，我当时不怎么高兴，我又不会闹着不回美国。真实的！高阿姨说等我到18岁了，那福利院就不能管我了，这倒是让我挺高兴的。高阿姨说我们能在福利院见面。等我打完了，我告诉妈妈我跟郑老师和高阿姨的通话，然后她就跟江阿姨发电子邮件。

我那时候特高兴，因为我很快就能见到郑老师啦！

On Sunday we went to the zoo. We were very happy on that day. It was very crowded in there. Even though Amy couldn’t touch the animals, she could listen and smell the animals, but the animals’ smell wasn’t very good.

There was one thing in the zoo that I didn’t like. It was obvious that you can’t throw food to the animals, but it seemed that nobody followed rule, and there wasn’t anyone to force people to follow the rule. That made me very unhappy.

One time we saw hippos, and there was a sign you could read, so I read it to Amy. At that time Helen was very surprised. However, I thought it wasn’t a big deal. My memory isn’t that bad. Then Helen said that there are many children who have been adopted from China who forgot their Chinese. At that time I knew why there were so many Chinese people who were very surprised at my Chinese. However, that didn’t change my thought about my Chinese. I am never surprise by myself, because I think that I am suppose to have it, or get done it. However, other people think I wasn’t doing that bad. I think I have higher expectations than other people.

That afternoon I asked mom if I could call Mrs. Zheng and Nanny Gao. Mom said yes. At that time I was very happy. I first called Mrs. Zheng, Mrs. Zheng knew on Friday I was going to visit school, but she thought the time is too short, so she asked me if she could come to Joy’s house to eat supper with us. Joy was our translator in Beijing and we lived in her house. We ate breakfast everyday and supper one night at her house. At that time I was very happy, couldn’t image that Mrs. Zheng would ask me about that (in a good way). Then I called Nanny Gao. I asked if I could see her. She said we can’t see each other in private. I wasn’t very happy at that time.  I wasn’t going to cry to not going with mom to America. . Shoot! Nanny Gao said when I am 18, then the orphanage couldn’t control me. That made me pretty happy. Nanny Gao said that we could see each other in the orphanage,.When I finished, I told mom the conversation with Mrs. Zheng and Nanny Gao, then she send email to Joy.

I was so happy at that time, because soon I could see Mrs. Zheng!

Day 8- Medical and Shamian Island

第八天－医药和沙面岛

在周六早上我们带Amy做身体检查。哦对了，我们有一个新翻译，她的名字是黄阿姨，她真人特喜欢笑，到挺可爱的。我们跟其他被收养的家庭一起坐车去那个地方。等我们到哪儿的时候，我们得等黄阿姨做一些事儿。在我们等的时候，我们遇见了一个家庭收养了很多的孩子，好像是八个。我们说到中国有好多的家乡话。我们北京人老喜欢带儿化音。我只偶尔带儿化音，但我觉得我说儿化音比一般的北京人说的要少。她们的一个小孩带好多的儿化音，我觉得这倒是挺好玩的。

之后我们去沙面岛。在我们去沙面岛之前，我们去了一个宾馆去找妈妈从网里认识的一个人。那个人收养了两个中国人。等我们去沙面岛的时候，哪儿有好多Amy可以摸的东西。我们摸了一会儿，然后我们去了一个饭店叫“Lucy的”！我当时就觉得这很好玩。我们吃了我们的最爱：羊肉串！

接下来我们继续在沙面岛走，然后我们就看到了两个音乐老人家。谁也不知道那两个人是盲人，等我们让Amy看的时候，她立马就说那两个是盲人。你看这两个人是不是盲人呀？（照片在下面）

我们还吃了糖葫芦，我在中国一直都想要吃。我问了妈妈，她说可以。我们两个都喜欢。

这就是我们在中国的第八天，也是在广州第一天。

On Saturday morning we took Amy to check her medical. Oh, also, we had a new translator, her name was Helen, and she liked to laugh a lot, so cute. We rode in a van with other families who were adopting their kids. When we got there, we had to wait for Helen to do some stuff. While we were waiting, we met a family that had adopted a lot of  kids, I think it's eight. We were talking about China having a lot of native dialects. Beijing people like to put "er" on their words. I only sometimes put "er" on my words, but I think I speak fewer "er" than normal Beijing people. One of their kids had a lot of "er" sounds, I think that is pretty funny.

Then we went to Shamian Island. Before we went to Shamian Island, we went to a hotel to meet a person that mom knew from the Internet. That person adopted two children from China. When we got to Shamian Island, there were a lot of things that Amy could touch. We touched a little bit, then we went to a restaurant name "Lucy's"! At that time I thought it was very funny. We ate our favorite: Kebab(lamb)！

Next we kept walking on Shamian Ialand. Then we saw two old musician statues. Nobody knew that those two were blind; when we let Amy see it she said that those two were blind immediately. See, do you think those two are blind?

We also ate Bing Tang Hu Lu, a snack that is made up of hawthorn, then you just put some ice sugar. I always wanted to eat this in China; I asked mom if we could have it, She said yes. We both liked it.

This is what Bing Tang Hu Lu make up of: hawthorns,  a type of bush or small tree with white or pink flowers and small red fruits

That was our eighth day in China, which was our first day in Guangzhou.

Day 6- People Park and Fountain Show

第六天－人民公园和喷泉表演

第六天是一个自由的一天。上午我们人民公园去健身健身。Amy和我很喜欢玩健身器。我们两个人的福利院都有一些健身器而且我们以前都玩过。我们有时候还比赛谁的身体更有灵活。

晚上我们看了看喷泉表演。那有几首歌我们知道的。我们那时候很高兴！我们的翻译Elsie找一了些照片。这是一些照片（请看下面）：

在南昌的第六天到挺好的。

The sixth day was a free day. In the morning we went to the people's park to exercise. Amy and I liked to play with some fitness stuff. Both of our orphanages had some fitness stuff that we played with before. Sometime we even contested who's body is more flexible.

That evening we saw a fountain show. There were some songs that we know. At that time we were very happy! Our translator took some pictures:

The sixth day in Nanchang was pretty good.

Day 4- Sightseeing

我们在南昌的第四天很有趣，但在我告诉你们我们那天做什么之前，我想告诉你们一个好玩的事情：上一天晚上当我们要睡觉的时候，我告诉Amy她要睡床上。那时候我们的宾馆只有两张床，Amy知道我也随在床上，所以她就问我：“那妈妈睡哪儿？”当时我也什么都没说，因为我知道她知道妈妈睡地下，所以我就没告诉她。等妈妈躺在地上的时候，Amy就立马从床上跳下来，然后把妈妈抬起来。当时我就觉得特好笑，所以就哈哈大笑的我都不能翻译了。后来妈妈投降了，然后就让Amy睡在地上了。

下一天我们去了一个很美丽的地方。这是一些照片（请看下面）：

我很喜欢那里。等我们看完了，我们就回宾馆了。那时候我很累，所以我就躺在床上准备睡觉。妈妈在教Amy英语盲文26个字母。我那时候还没睡着呢，所以我可以听见她们的谈话。然后我听到了他们之前有一些误会，所以我就替他们翻译了一下。然后妈妈继续教Amy，不过Amy看起来糊里糊涂的，然后我就替她们翻译。想到这里到挺好玩的，因为我想要睡觉，但是我没法睡觉。我老是以为当一个翻译员是一个很简单的事，但我开始有不同的想法了。

这就是在南昌的第四天。

The fourth day in Nanchang was very interesting, but before I tell you what we did on that day, I want to tell you a funny thing: the night before when we were going to go to bed, I told Amy that she is sleeping in bed. At that time our hotel room only have two beds, Amy knew I was going to sleep in bed also, so she asked me, "Where will Mom sleep?" At that time I didn't say anything, because I knew she already knew that mom would sleep on the floor, so I didn't told her. At that time I thought she is very smart. When mom laid on the floor, Amy jump off the bed immediately, and picked mom up. At that time I thought it's funny, so I laughed so much that I couldn't translate for them. Later mom gave up, and let Amy sleep on the floor.

Next day we went to a very beautiful place. These are some of the pictures: 

 

I liked that place. When we finished sightseeing, we went back to the hotel. At that time I was very tired, so I was going to go to bed and sleep. Mom was teaching Amy the English braille alphabet. I wasn't sleep, so I could hear their conversation. Then I heard a little misunderstanding, so I translated for them. Then mom continued to teach Amy, but Amy looked very confused, then I translated for them again. Thinking about that I think it's a little bit funny, because I wanted to sleep, but there was no way to sleep. I had always thought that being a translator was easy, but I was starting to think differently.    

That was the fourth day in Nanchang.
